Human–AI collaboration in radiology

We use ethnographic research to understand how clinicians work with AI in radiology. By studying everyday practice, we examine how AI fits into clinical workflows, how its outputs are used, and what clinicians need from these tools.

The findings will inform work on AI deferral: systems that pass cases to clinicians for review when appropriate. This connects technical development with the practical demands of clinical work.

AI‑assisted assessment in VR paediatric training

We explore a Human–AI Collaboration (HAIC) approach to assessing medical students in VR paediatric emergency simulations. The system auto‑grades clear performances and flags ambiguous cases for expert review, aiming for scalable, consistent, and objective skills assessment with high‑quality feedback.
